STRUGGLING WITH PROBABILITY AND COMPETITIVE PROGRAMMING REQUIRES NOVEL TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE

How do i get better at probability? I feel like there are a lot of subtlety and i aways approach the question in the wrong direction or idk how to start other than brute focing everything

Also how do i get better at competitive programming? I feel like i can do the basic but whenever i solve question that requires some novel solution that i havent seen before, i cant do it.

So how do i improve?
